Cool Berry Smoothie Bowl

Description

Using your freezer for fruit is a great idea. It provides you with ice cubes that are full of vitamins and minerals! Add them to water and drink or make up a whole array of smoothies and smoothie bowls that are ice cold and delicious.

It's a great way to reduce waste and save money and the only thing that will hold you back is your imagination. So many colours and combinations to try. This one uses Quark, a zero fat cheese but you could use Greek yoghurt or dairy free alternatives.

Recipe & Instructions

Serves 1

  • 4 tbsp quark
  • 4 tbsp blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

To Top

  • a selection of frozen or fresh purple fruits, desiccated coconut and flaked coconut

Whizz up the quark and berries (and sweetener) in a high speed blender (you may need to scrape down a few times as it's quite a thick mix).

Spoon the quark into a bowl and using the toppings, design away! Or just plonk them on if you're short of time :-)
